The Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) is designed to provide an emergency pipeline repair solution for pipelines located in various water depths of up to 1,350m and up to 44-inch in diameter. 

Highlights

Subsea 7 developed and delivered a pipeline repair solution with the scope comprising: design, fabrication and procurement of the repair equipment and development of bespoke methodologies and procedures to be available during the life of the operated assets.

Project management, engineering and procurement support was provided from the UK and Norway.

Scope of Work

The Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) Project included the development and delivery of a pipeline repair system capable of performing:

  • Straight spool repairs using telescopic connectors on pipelinesizes from 34" to 44"
  • Inline repairs using structural pressure retaining clamps onpipeline sizes from 20" to 44"
  • Small diameter pipeline and umbilical repairs

Project Management

  • Management of all engineering, design, procurement and fabrication activities
  • Management of key subcontractors• Management of all system integration testing
  • Delivery of complete system and documentation

Development and Engineering

  • Overall system basis design
  • Design analysis including design manuals
  • Repair installation analysis
  • Detailed specification and design of EPRS components
  • Tooling control system
