Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs)

ROVs

This modern, flexible fleet comprises exclusive systems that we have designed in-house and evolved through the highly successful Centurion series via the HD, QX, QX Ultra and our flagship Centurion SP system.

System integration testing

It is a critical requirement of remote subsea intervention that ROVs have sufficient access to worksites and that tools are compatible with controls on subsea structures. System integration tests (SITs) are an integral part of our service – highlighting any accessibility or interface problems prior to mobilisation and allowing adjustments to be made in a controlled onshore environment.

Heavy weather launch

When it comes to working in rougher seas heavy weather launch systems can provide extra support, reliability and piece of mind. We have developed two types of cursor-based heavy weather launch system that enable the launch and recovery of an ROV system quickly, reliably and safely in extreme weather conditions.

Observation Class ROVs

Subsea 7's ROV fleet contains a number of electrically-powered observation-class systems from world-renowned manufacturer Seaeye. Much smaller than a work-class system, the observation-class ROV is used for visual inspection and light intervention tasks and is capable of carrying a payload of over 30kg. A range of sensors, indicators and cameras can be mounted to the ROV for undertaking routine maintenance checks of subsea structures and providing additional visual support to work-class operations.

Seaeye Tiger

Seaeye Tiger

Widely regarded as the world’s leading observation-class ROV in depths of up to 1,000m the Seaeye Tiger is unsurpassed in its ability to operate in strong currents with excellent handling and manoeuvrability. The Seaeye Tiger is ideal for inspection programmes requiring light intervention or as a support system alongside a work-class ROV.

Seaeye Lynx

Seaeye Lynx

The Seaeye Lynx is widely considered the leading observation and inspection class ROV in the oil and gas industry, with excellent handling and manoeuvrability even in strong currents and harsh conditions.

Work Class ROVs

Capable of carrying payloads of up to 300kg and performing a range of complex subsea intervention tasks, Subsea 7's work-class fleet is depth-rated up to 4,000m and capable of delivering up to 230hp, operating in either free-swimming mode or with top-hat or garage TMS. Subsea 7's hydraulically powered work-class systems come equipped with an array of indicators, sensors and cameras for data capture and navigation as well as two manipulators for performing intervention work.

Centurion SP

Centurion SP

The Centurion SP is the latest evolution of Subsea 7's highly successful Centurion Work Class ROV series. It has been specifically designed to service ultra deepwater drilling projects particularly in high current locations.

The SP is depth-rated up to 4,000m, is DNV verified to 900Kgf vertical thrust and 1,600Kgf bollard pull. A key feature of the Centurion SP is its power, providing up to 230hp with a vehicle weighing 3,200kg in air. This allows the SP to outperform any other ROV in this class with the added advantage of lighter, more compact handling systems.

Centurion QX

Centurion QX

The Centurion QX is an evolution of Subsea 7's highly successful Centurion Work Class ROV series. Purpose built for deepwater drill rig and vessel support projects, the Centurion QX combines field proven design with updated propulsion and control system technology.

QX Ultra

QX Ultra

The QX Ultra is designed for deepwater drill rig and vessel support projects, utilising the latest technology for interfacing with the latest tools and instruments. The QX offers unparalleled flexibility with the ability to tackle operations quickly and efficiently.

Centurion HD

Centurion HD

The Centurion HD evolved from the well-known Centurion Work Class ROV, building on technology and expertise gained from decades of operations in the harsh environments of the North Sea.

The 125hp system with vectored thrusters results in increased power and reliability, making the Centurion HD the WROV of choice for shallow water drill rig and vessel support programmes.

Pioneer

Pioneer

The Pioneer HD is a Work Class ROV system designed and built in-house to optimise reliability and operational capability. Based on the highly successful Pioneer series, the Pioneer HD has been modified to meet the dynamic challenges of the offshore exploration and production industry.
