Subsea 7 decommissioning teams provide comprehensive operational expertise, project management services and engineering solutions for the safe and efficient removal of offshore installations and subsea infrastructure.
We encourage our clients to engage at life extension stage to allow for adequate planning and studies to be performed to provide the best possible solution for the decommissioning of assets. By partnering with us earlier, we can help eliminate risk and cost inefficiencies from an early stage.
Our decommissioning FEED studies include information and recommendations on: the development and feasibility of projects; alternative solutions; project and scope reviews; hazard identification and disposal options; project scheduling and estimated project costs.
Using our virtual reality modelling system we can re-create asset or full field experiences and perform a virtual SIT using recommended equipment and services in digital twin format.
We specialise in the delivery of engineering solutions to solve challenging decommissioning work scopes ensuring we fully understand our clients’ business, drivers and challenges to help develop the optimum project solution.
Whether it is modifications to our existing equipment or a complete bespoke design solution from concept to deployment, Subsea 7 has the ingenuity and expertise to deliver.
All our engineering is carried out in-house covering a wide range of disciplines.
Subsea 7 offers a range of equipment and ancillary services for the cutting of pipelines, caissons, jackets, piles and structures. From mechanical diamond wire saws to abrasive water jet cutting, we can provide the solution to cut through the toughest of materials in the harshest of environments. With a global fleet of market-leading equipment and personnel, Subsea 7 operate to the highest of standards in the decommissioning market.
Our fleet of proprietary equipment includes:
To support inspection, repair and field development work scopes, we provide coating removal units designed to remove concrete, FBE and other protective coatings from pipelines ranging from 100 – 1200 mm (4-48 in) outside diameter, with systems designed to remove a 360˚ section of coating, up to 1m in length.
Subsea 7 offer a diverse range of debris clearance and recovery systems for the safe and efficient recovery of various types of debris, pipelines and structures subsea. Whilst we have a large fleet of off-the-shelf equipment available for immediate work scopes, Subsea 7 can also engineer and deliver custom solutions for specific client requirements.
Our dedicated decommissioning teams offer project management and operational personnel to provide full field decommissioning services from project planning right through to offshore execution.
We provide a full range of cutting and recovery equipment to perform pipeline decommissioning services. Whether a clean cut is required using one of our diamond wire saws or quick scrap cuts using our subsea shear cutters on a flexible or rigid pipeline, we can provide a cutting solution to suit any client requirement. We can also offer recovery equipment ranging from pipe grabs, orange peel grabs, pipeline recovery heads, and subsea recovery baskets.
Subsea 7 offers a full project managed service carried out by our dedicated decommissioning teams globally. With a strong track record spanning over 40 years in the oil and gas industry, we have carried out several thousand cuts on both diver and ROV work scopes.
During field decommissioning activities Subsea 7 can provide equipment and personnel to cut and recover all types of subsea assets such as overtrawlable structures, XT, wellheads, rigid and flexible pipelines, suction piles, mud mats and general debris.
Using our global tooling pool of over 4,000 assets, we can perform the intervention shutdown and isolation of assets as well as the cutting and recovery for disposal. This reduces costs and provides time savings for our clients by providing a one stop shop solution for end of life decommissioning programmes.
When a platform is ready for decommissioning Subsea 7 can carry out the safe and cost-effective disconnection of risers, umbilicals and flowlines utilising our wide range of cutting equipment and expertise. We provide dredging and jetting equipment for the removal of soil plugs from piles which can then be cut internally using mechanical or abrasive cutting methods.
We can provide heavy lift capabilities up to 5,000mt lift for the removal of topsides and jackets. Having this resource internally allows us to work side by side with the heavy lift teams so our clients have complete visibility.
